The prism pod is one of those forms that looks complex from the outside and reveals its logic once you are inside it. It's a geometric building block and an introduction to open 3D shapes, a satisfying dimensional structure that holds its shape and works in various scales.
This downloadable PDF pattern teaches you to build a 3-sided prism pod charm from the inside out using peyote stitch panels that zip together into a finished three-dimensional form. The size is adjustable. Includes peyote stitch with increases, zipping beads together, and adding trim by "stitching in the ditch."
What's included:
- Downloadable PDF with step-by-step visual instructions and full-color photos over 8 pages, including professional tips.
- Private YouTube video link included in the pattern, exclusively for purchasers, where I bead the prism pod and walk you through every step.
- Materials list so you know exactly what to gather before you sit down
Materials You Will Need:
- 4 colors of size 11/0 cylinder beads (Delicas) or seed beads
- Beading thread like KO or Miyuki
- Size 12 beading needle
Intermediate Level: You should be comfortable with flat peyote stitch before starting this pattern. The tutorial includes increases, zipping, and stitching in the ditch.
Taking It Further I also share how to incorporate the finished pod into your designs. The pod is a building block, and once you understand how it works structurally, you will start seeing possibilities everywhere. It can be made into an earring or strung as a pendant, or incorporated into bracelet or necklaces. I look forward to seeing how you use it!
